Bob Beck

Director of Softball Operations

Beck has done it all in the baseball industry as he was the head of an Umpire Association, Director of Cuyahoga Valley Baseball League, Avon Lake youth Baseball Director, and a USSSA representative. Beck started his coaching career in 2000 as the Assistant Director of Baseball Operations for Diamond Indoor Sports Complex. In 2011 he became the hitting coordinator for the North Coast Vipers travel baseball organization. He was also a part of USA-LABC Big League Edge coaching staff in 2014. In 2009 he started at T3 as the Director of Camps & Clinics. In 2013 he became the Director of Baseball Operations for T3 Performance. Since Beck has started with T3 he has been involved in the success and recruitment process of both baseball and softball players with his expertise of hitting instruction and college recruiting videos.  


Kelly Zana

Director of Player Development

Kelly is the current assistant coach at Walsh Jesuit High School. Kelly played collegiate ball at Elmira College.

Rich Buttolph

Director of Recruiting

•1990-93 - John F. Kennedy High School

•1993-94 - John Marshall High School

• Have coached fastpitch softball for the past 18 years with the following organizations: Tidalwaves, Wildcat Fastpitch, SunDogs, Diamond Chix Premier and Mavericks Fastpitch.  Also coached Keystone High School’s winter league teams from 2014-18.

• Our 14U SunDogs team won the All Sanctioned World Series Platinum Bracket Championship, 1st place out of over 150 teams.

• Our 16U SunDogs team finished 4th at ASA/USA “A” Eastern Nationals in Wilmington, DE.

• Our 16U Diamond Chix Premier team earned a 2nd place finish at the very prestigious Atlanta Legacy Showcase featuring the best travel softball teams in the country.

• Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to coach a ton of great talent.  Including my 2 daughters, Alisha Silva (Cleveland State University 2012-16) and Ashley Buttolph (Ursuline College 2018-22), I’ve coached 29 young women that have put in the hard work and fulfilled their dream of playing at the college level in all divisions, NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA D2 and Community College/Junior College and I’m proud to say I’ve worked hand in hand with most of them through the recruiting process.


Lauren Polak

Pitching Coordinator

Lauren is the head coach at Wester University Academy. She broke 22 school and conference records at Washington College. Lauren was the 2014 Washington athletic award winner, as well as being a part of 2 all centennial conference teams and 2x college MVP. Her team won the conference in 2013 and went to the NCAA tournament. Lauren is also in the D3 record book for doubles hit. Most recently she was a collegiate pitching coach at York College of PA, where she helped the pitching staff to their lowest ERA in 5 years.

Javier Marcano

Lead Instructor

  • 15+ years of softball coaching experience including the Dirt Devils, Northcoast Spirit, Sundogs, MC Madness, North Coast Waves and Mavericks. Also coached community based Recreation Leagues in Lorain Amherst, OGSO and Emerald Necklace programs.
  • Teams won 7 tournament championships, 3 tournament runner ups. From 2014-17, won over 100 games with the North Coast Waves, including the 16u NSA States/Ohio and the Fastpitch Classic College Showcase/Toledo.
  • In 2017 at the TCS East Coast Nationals in Myrtle Beach, team placed 17th out of 93 teams. In 2016 at the NSA Nationals in Buffalo/Niagara Falls, team made it to the semi finals with 78 participating teams before being eliminated.
  • Coach Javier has developed and guided many players through the process of successfully playing softball at the collegiate level.

Emmanuel Quiles

Catching Coordinator

Manny was the 2007 MLB 6th Round draft pick for the San Diego Padres, where he played for 5 years. He was the 2009 MiLB All-Start Selection. In 2011 he joing the Milwaukee Brewers organization and from 2013-2015 he played with the Lake Erie Crushers in the Frontier League, where he was a 2-time Frontier League All Star. He was a professional coach for the Lake Erie Crushers from 2016-2019 and Assistant Coach and Catcher's coach for the Crushers. In 2018 and 2019 he was named the Frontier League Coach of the Year and in 2021 he started at Avon High School as the Varsity Assistant Coach.
